North Cornwall is a play ground for active outdoor types, and the beauty of Avalon's loaction is that there is so much to do right on your doorstep.  Top of the list is of course surfing, as the beach is a few minutes walk from the house.  You can have your first experience or hone your skills with one of the surf schools located on the beach, such as Wave Hunters, George's Surf School and Surfs Up surf school.

You can also play golf, water ski, sail, scuba and fish in Rock, not to mention windsurf, kayak, kite surf.....the list goes on.  Or why not take the ferry to Padstow and visit the national lobster hatchery or maybe hire bikes to explore the Camel Trail, an old railway that runs along the river Camel all the way to Bodmin.

If you're not quite that active, why not enjoy the spectacular views from the coast path, take a dip in the crystal water, or climb Brea Hill, or even Brown Willy?!

And if you want something a little more relaxing, you can take a boat trip out of Padstow, enjoy some fine galleries, shop for all your surf fashion necessities, pay a visit to the award winning Camel Valley Winery or just sit and watch the world go by with an ice cream or a coffee.
